OUR MISSION

The origin of these passion projects began with a vision titled “The Love We Don’t See" Which aims at highlighting and sharing the love that we all contribute to the world.

Under that umbrella the M5 initiative was born and its primary focus is beating the odds and statistics society has against our youth in our inner city communities to succeed.

The goal is to implement curriculum that combines traditional subjects with activities that put students in direct contact with the systems of racial and class inequities we face, in order to fully be capable of analyzing those problems and developing creative solutions to solve them. This will provide the foundation to rebuild autonomy within our communities, teach our children how to think instead of what to think, and assist them in providing the solutions needed for our society to prioritize meeting the needs of its citizens. Points of emphasis include financial literacy, coding/program, entrepreneurship, social emotional learning, multicultural education.

OUR FOCUS

MULTICULTURAL

Our goal is to teach children the value of how beautiful life is when we embrace and celebrate the many cultures around the world. We will focus on breaking down cultural barriers that divide us and instead teach children more than tolerance and acceptance, but how truly important it is to celebrate other cultures.

Under this initiative, children will take the time to learn about the history of other cultures to better understand the backgrounds of their neighbors, share perspectives on their own culture with peers, and learn about the customs, foods, and social norms of other cultures.

HOW WE HELP OUR COMMUNITY

Student Conections

Children are our future, and they need to be supported in a positive way. We are committed to giving children opportunities for growth by hosting events and after-school programs in order for them to succeed in education, and in their daily lives.

Advocating for Social Justice

We believe in making our community in the county of Los Angeles better. The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand at times of challenge and controversy. We will always stand with the people.

Ending Poverty

We are likely to find that the problems of education, housing ,& public safety will be improved if poverty is first abolished. The dignity of people will flourish when the decisions concerning their life are in their own hands, when they have the assurance that their income is stable and certain, and when they know that they have the means to seek self-improvement
