THE LOVE WE DONT SEE

"I am who I am because somebody loved me. So always lead with love in everything you do & the world will be a better place because of it."
MEET OUR FOUNDER
SYLVESTER ANI JR.
"I’m the son of Nigerian immigrants, born in Inglewood and raised in Cerritos. Losing my father to gun violence at 13—and my younger brother six years later—shaped how I decided to show up for people in my life, with compassion, purpose, and a commitment to community. My upbringing, education in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and service on the ABCUSD Strategic Planning Committee have all deepened my dedication to youth empowerment and collective care. In 2020, I committed myself to liberation-focused education that equips communities with the tools to work toward abolition and build a world where they feel truly safe. That commitment has taken shape through advocating alongside families who have lost loved ones to police violence, partnering with BIPOC communities in mutual aid efforts, creating educational opportunities, and building networks of care that strengthen and sustain our neighborhoods. This is the heart of The Love We Don’t See—a vision of safety, dignity, and justice for us all."

WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
At The Love We Don’t See, we’re dedicated to empowering youth through education, emotional growth, and community liberation. Founded by Sylvester Ani Jr., a passionate advocate, educator, and community builder, our work began with one goal: to illuminate the everyday love that often goes unnoticed — in schools, neighborhoods, and acts of care that make real change. We believe love is action. It’s showing up. It’s meeting people where they are. And it’s building a future where young people feel seen, safe, and supported.
Over 1,000 Students Impacted!
AND WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED.....
We believe every student deserves the chance to be seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. That’s why we show up where it matters most—inside classrooms, alongside educators, and in the lives of young people who are shaping the future.

With more than 1,000 students already impacted, our reach continues to grow through dynamic educational events, in-classroom programs, and hands-on mentorship opportunities. Each interaction is intentional, designed to spark confidence, encourage curiosity, and foster a sense of belonging.

Whether it's a single lesson that shifts a student’s perspective or a long-term mentorship that guides them toward their goals, our presence makes a difference. We’re not just teaching subjects—we’re building relationships, nurturing dreams, and creating pathways to success.

And this is just the beginning.
Over 1,000 Families Fed Because No One Should Go Hungry

At the heart of our mission is a simple yet powerful belief: everyone deserves access to nutritious food and basic essentials. That is why we organize and deliver impactful food distributions that build hope, dignity, and connection.

Through community food drives, pop-up pantries, and direct outreach, we have proudly provided meals and vital supplies to over 1,000 families. They are about showing up with compassion, listening without judgment, and creating a support system that families can count on. Every meal shared is a reminder that no one in our community should face hunger alone.

As the need grows, so does our commitment.
Together we are feeding families, uplifting lives, and making sure no one is left behind.
